  Contracts are apparently not binding for CityFitness (CF): I have been a member of CityFitness (CF) Recklinghausen since October 2020. Despite the officially ordered closure of the studio during the second lockdown from November 2020, I continued to pay my membership fees. In recent years I have received several inquiries from the studio regarding additional costs, such as energy flat rates or prevention courses. In 2023 I booked a preventive measure in the studio, the cost of which was around 200 euros. The scope of services consisted of a one-off, approximately 30-minute introduction to using a device, which I then used independently. In July 2024, I noticed unusually high withdrawals from my account. Since there had been incorrect charges in the past, I contacted the studio via email for clarification. In response, I received an information letter that I had not received before, announcing a 40% increase in contributions. Since the contract concluded between CF and me does not contain any legal basis for such an extraordinary increase in contributions, I have objected to this in writing. At the beginning of 2025 I was denied access to the studio. A clarification at the counter was not possible. In response to my written inquiry on January 10th, 2025, I received a notice of termination as of December 30th, 2024 - retroactively and not at the actual end of the month (December 31st, 2024). Termination outside of contractually agreed deadlines and retroactively not only seems unusual, but is also legally questionable. I asked the CF in writing to comply with the contract - but to no avail. It's unfortunate that the studio doesn't stick to existing contractual agreements and that they apparently have to treat members like this for the sake of a few euros.

  I've been training at the gym since 2008. The managers are always coming up with innovations and highlights. "Training with friends" is the motto there.

  Come here via the Wellpass. I don't have much to say, probably the best gym I've visited in Germany. Very clean and hygienic, nice staff. For some members the gym can, but they should not be considered for the review. I find the drinking water very special. Never drank such good water in a gym
