  One annoying aspect at the onset is that when you call the restaurant, they never pick up the phone. Numerous requests for the menu (by my hotel reception), were never responded to. Even though there were mixed reviews about this place, I decided to give a try for their Saturday night barbecue buffet. You take their private boat from the Villa Beach dock to the one on the privately owned, high end, Young Island Resort. There is a steel band playing and you get the feeling that puts you into a Caribbean state of mind. You would think that at $76 US, there would be a sizable spread, but there was not. Also to say it’s a buffet is misleading because they were limiting choices at the grill. One could only have two protein selections from steak, fish, shrimp, chicken and pork. I chose the steak (medium rare) and the filet of king fish. The steak was juicy, tasty and did not need any sauce. The fish filet was overcooked and dry but meat was flaky and it was edible. Not surprising because they asked the guests to place the order and the grill, then go collect sides and come back. Of course the grill master had forgotten what everyone had ordered. The sides table was also limited. There were salads (all of them really good), rice and beans, potatoes, vegetables au gratin and bakes. All these were also superb. The protein portions were substantial but I did go back for a second serving of sides. There were four dessert selections, one of which was a fruit salad (see my pictures for the full menu). The staff could have done better by smiling, at least once in a while. The grill master seemed stressed and crabby. If one ignores some of those nuances, the evening would take better shape. In the food department, I would rate this dinner as excellent.

  We were hesitant to dine here because some of the reviews were not that great. We decided to make a reservation and are so glad we did. We are foodies and the food was excellent and the service outstanding. The tables under the grass hits with the rolling surf sounds on the beach, along with the little boat ride over added to the experience. Great experience in all.

  I've never stayed overnight at the resort, but I've enjoyed the buffet on multiple occasions, and it's been rather tasty. I always enjoy the view and relaxing on the beach and going for a swim after brunch!

  Peaceful, stunning property. Staff is friendly and the General Manager Bianca is amazing. Food was delicious. A must stay if travelling to St. Vincent

  Your own spot of heaven. Young Island is almost a world unto itself less than a mile from the mainland. The service is 5 stars and the view is like no other. We were able to walk out of our room and be on the beachfront.
